Last month we attended the Riding the Rapids – Negotiating the Challenges of Life After Brain Injury conference in London.
I was very impressed with the number of people who attended and the beautiful venue of Central Hall in Westminster, a very well-organised event with great food and refreshments.
There was a huge number of exhibition stands, ranging from specialist brain injury rehabilitation provision, independent living care homes, residential and outreach services, personal injury solicitors, court of protection lawyers and the many acquired brain injury organisations.
The programme introduced some fabulous guest speakers, I particularly enjoyed Jo Clark Wilson talking about mindfulness. Dr Ashok Jansari gave a fascinating talk on the field of cognitive neuropsychology (the study of individuals with brain damage). He also spoke about the incredible impact of mindfulness medication on both the physical body and the brain.
Having the opportunity to speak with numerous people in specialist roles, learning about what they provide, with the chance to chat about our Virtual PA services, generated a good deal of interest.
